October is here! The leaves are changing colors, temperatures are dropping, and pumpkin spice has somehow found its way into everything short of toothpaste! It’s the season of cozy sweaters, apple picking, and pretending that raking leaves counts as exercise?!?! But October is also a wonderful time to slow down, enjoy the crisp autumn air, and make special memories together.
October can also serve as a reminder that life, just as the weather, is constantly changing. Especially when it comes to our aging loved ones. Caring for an older parent or relative means facing important decisions that aren’t always easy. Is it still safe for Mom or Dad to live alone? Is it time to bring in additional help? Would a senior living community provide a better quality of life? These are difficult questions, often accompanied by uncertainty and even frustration.
There may not always be a perfect answer, but here at TASS, we have a wealth of knowledge and experience in helping families navigate the challenges of caring for aging loved ones, and we’d LOVE the opportunity to share it with you!
Please take a look at our website www.tassgroup.org to see if any of our TASS skilled professionals could have the answers you are looking for!
But without further ado, for our October 2026 newsletter, TASS is proud to share our member/businesses of the month, Shari Haber of My Great Goodbye!!
Living Longer Doesn’t Mean Living Forever.
Most of us spend a lifetime planning for the future—but rarely plan for the one thing we know will eventually happen, no matter how much longer advances in longevity science may help us live.
Shari Haber founded My Great Goodbye to help individuals and families with the personal and practical decisions that shape what happens at the end of life, and everything that follows.
But it’s about more than making funeral arrangements.
Her holistic approach helps you make a plan for what’s done with your body, your memorial gathering, and the legacy you leave behind. She does the research so you don’t have to, and curates options that reflect who you are, what you value, and how you want to be remembered.
The result isn’t simply a plan for death. It’s the relief of knowing you’ve prepared and put your wishes into words — and the freedom to focus on living the life you have today with greater joy and purpose.
Planning ahead gives you an opportunity to clarify what matters most while you’re still healthy and able to make thoughtful choices. Working with Shari gives you compassionate guidance so you can avoid the overwhelming stress, save time, and often money.
It’s a gift to yourself and those you love.
